Research Assistant

Help the research team check every claim against its source and keep CoinPicks research current.

The difference you can make

Give people research they can trust, so they can make their own informed decisions.

The role

Work with the CoinPicks research team on the crypto projects we cover. Gather primary sources such as project documents and official announcements, check claims before they are published, and write research notes the team can build on. Keep existing research current as news breaks, and support the research behind our lessons and videos. This is an education role. It does not give personalized investment advice or tell anyone what to buy.

What you’ll own

  • Research assigned crypto projects from primary sources and record where every fact came from.
  • Check the claims in draft reports and scripts before they are published, and flag anything that is out of date or unsupported.
  • Follow news on the projects we cover and tell the team when something changes what our research says.
  • Write short research briefs in plain English that the team can use without redoing your work.
  • Keep your notes and sources organized and dated, so anyone on the team can pick up where you left off.

What you’ll bring

  • Examples of research or fact checking you did yourself, such as a report, article or analysis, with your part explained.
  • Working knowledge of crypto and blockchains, and the curiosity to learn new projects in depth.
  • Clear writing and the habit of keeping facts separate from opinions and predictions.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and research tools, including AI tools, and the discipline to check their answers against the original source.
  • The judgment to say when something cannot be verified instead of guessing.
Your first 90 days
  1. First 30 days: learn the CoinPicks research method and review standards, then complete supervised source checks on assigned reports.
  2. By day 60: research and draft agreed updates for a set of covered projects, with every claim linked to its source.
  3. By day 90: own a regular research workload with dependable accuracy, and suggest one improvement to how we research or review.
